| The above graphic is the well-known painting by famous Civil War artist-soldier Conrad Wise Chapman (1842-1910), who visited the historic sub at it's Mount Pleasant dock December 2, 1863. He also did the starboard side sketch used in the heading of my Main Page. Besides painting everyday Confederate camp life, he also painted numerous heroic scenes of the defense of Charleston. |
